Thanks and kudos to AQL for the SMS to email service that made this possible!

Here are the latest blogs from all the teams on the rally. Only teams that have included location data in their blogs appear on the map, and their location is the last one we know about; having said that, we do try to add their location if they mention where they are!

Utterly exhausted. Kazakhstan, in my humble opinion you have a capital to be proud of. Wonderful girl in the last cafe we visited even called us a taxi when we were dead on our feet after 12 hours sight-seeing & devoid of ideas on how to find 1. Back on the road tomorrow, aiming for Siberia within 2 days

Our friend Rasol is letting us use his office computer. Hopefuly be back on the road by tonight and out of Iran by tomorow night. He is also our new sponsor so visit Complex Stone Limited if you are ever wanting some stone when you are in Iran.

it's not a very exciting landscape that we're travelling through today. Rolling hills planted with crops as far as the eye can see. We'll meet up with the haerenga boys today, haven't seen them since bulgaria.

How to describe Astana? Let me take you back to the early 90s, when I was about 12 & obsessed with an Amiga game called Sim City. Had I been allowed to stay up past bedtime with a drunken uncle, Astana is what we might have created. Part Flash Gordon, part Gotham City, it's an architect's wet dream or worst nightmare, dependent on viewpoint. Prince Charles would hate it. Blogging from the top of the Bayterek Tower, looking out over the Khan Shatyr to the as-yet-undeveloped steppe beyond. Having a beer to combat the vertigo.

48.06200:9017900 200 km left to Odessa. We are on a motorway. The road is so smooth, it is nice not to have to dodge wheel breaking pot holes.

stayed in a little hidden paradise last night... Surrounded by trees & shrubs, right beside the main highway, was a small deserted piece of asphalt, complete with wildlife in the form of 4 or 5 stray dogs and with abstract sculptures formed from dumped rubbish. We were lulled to sleep by the noise of trucks, and later trains. What more could we need?

"we are starting our 5th day in the saddle so to speak. Wednesday was amazing driving through the mongolian steppe. We saw camels, horses, goats cattle, beautiful blue lakes and distant yurts on hillsides. So many spectacular scenes! We managed to find nut and bolt for J2 exhaust in bustling back street where wood, goats and skins were being traded. Bought a sack of firewood too. Had a scare when jack and louis jumped out of J1 shouting fire extinguisher! It had overheated and a pipe had come loose. Allen again under the machine fixing whilst J and L stood guard for dangerous looking beetles that seemed interested. Thursday was hard core driving and Henry did amazingly across rocks, through sand and over consistent corrugated ridge roads.  read more »

So here we go. What started as a laugh at the pub has spiraled into a plan which is actually going ahead. Chris and I knew we wanted to do something big, but this is turning out to be gargantuan!

We've grown as a team, from two, into three, then five, one more, makes it an even six. We've been seeking sponsorship from everyone we can think of, from big business to small firms. So many letters, so many stamps! All we do now is wait to hear if anyone is interested, including some people we know. Perhaps this will all be easy, perhaps not, either way were all 100% behind getting this off the ground.
