Go Help was created to promote an ethical model of charity rallying, ensuring that funds raised for charitable activities go to charity with little or no provision for administrative costs, and to ensure that rally enthusiasts who want to take part in charity rallies can do so at a lower cost than is otherwise available through rallies that are run for profit or claim to be charitable when they aren't really. We share a full time member of staff in Mongolia with an other UK charity that works in Mongolia who works hard to develop our charity projects in Mongolia and ensure that the vehicles we send to Mongolia are properly imported and distributed to charities around the country.

Everyone gets involved on all of the charity rallies events, but this is who is key to the Mongolia Charity Rally:

20071121-cdpf_will-IMG_2522Will - Mongolia co-ordinator. Will takes working holidays in Mongolia, spending the time running round government departments and sorting out cars and charities in the cold of Mongolia, when mere mortals normally head for a beach holiday!

Charlie - Organising the Naadam, chasing the sponsors, and advising the teams taking ambulances.

Dave - king of the info email account and branding sponsorship co-ordinator.

Archie - master of the Turkmenistan visas and a few other things.

Bataa (Tserenbat) - Chair of the Mongolian Association, he helps out with organising the Naadam at the Launch and putting together some great events with Mongolians throughout the year.

Stephen & Pete - the webteam.

Karen - keeps in touch with the charities

Dulguun - Go Help International Projects Co-ordinator (Mongolia). Dulguun is the first employee of Go Help and splits her time between Go Help and CAMDA. She is now based in Ulaanbaatar, her home, having lived and studied in the UK. She is a graduate from SOAS in 2008 and is now busy doing some amazing work developing the charity projects in Mongolia and co-ordinating a team of Mongolian volunteers.

There are lots of other people that volunteer their time in lots of ways, thanks in particular go to Fel, Andrew (aka Speedbird), Meg, Harry, Phil G, the Graham Brothers, and many others.

More about us

We're a UK registered charity incorporated in 2007 although our work and connections with Mongolia go back many years. Four of our trustees are UK lawyers. We are also registered with the Fundraising Standards Board and are committed to following their best practices in fundraising to ensure that more money goes to the good causes we support rather than administration and UK based staff. Details of our registration are here and also linked from the bottom of every page on our website. trustees meeting with Mongolian AssociationStephen on MNB News (Mongolian TV)- 1 July 2006

Our experience working in Mongolia goes back many years, with one of our trustees, Will, having lived in Mongolia for a year and has been a frequent traveller ever since. Some of the other trustees were on the first ever Mongol Rally, and one of our long standing volunteers, Stephen, even co-organised and ran the first three Mongol Rallies before parting company with Tom Morgan when the Mongol Rally was turned into a profit making event run by the League of Adventurists International Ltd!
