I feel it is time for an update, as the rally start date is now only a little over 3 months away!
Recently we had a 4th member join the team - Sofia our Argentinian Kiwi. Currently Sof is on a placement in Vanuatu with Engineers without Borders. She loves helping others and loves adventuring in the outdoors, so the Mongolia Charity Rally is right up her alley.
We have also recently received some corporate support from Kathmandu, who have offered us Community Pricing (that's 65% off) on all products. This is fantastic news, as we will certaintly need some camping equipment and other items for our journey. We do plan to camp as often as we can, to keep costs down and to just experience the great outdoors! Rob has also received a discount on flights from NZ to London, through Jacqui Currall at The Travel Brokers.
PLANNING! So much planning. There is a ton of stuff to organise, but perphaps most difficult and most pressing is sorting out visas for a lot of the countries we will be visiting. Namely all the Stans and Russia...(word on the street is that Russia can be quite a hard visa to get). Then there is the car/truck to find...Josh is super confident that the right car is out there for us, so he's taking the lead on that. Then we need to fine tune the route, get some more big sponsors on board, get shots, and the list goes on...
So it's time to kick The Next Big Adventure into overdrive! Rob has just returned home from Japan and is slowly acclimatising to the heat (a bit worrying as it's only 23 degrees...Europe and Central Asia will be far hotter mid Summer). Josh is on the way back to the UK from Japan as we speak, and Malina had settled back into life in Southhampton. Sof will join the team in London straight from Vanuatu in July.
Until next time! Stay tuned to our facebook page for more regular updates. facebook.com/thenextbigadventure2015
