Kent Kids Miles of SmilesKent Kids Miles of Smiles is A charity for sick and Disabled children and young people with profound and multiple disabilities, we believe they are people first who have the right to be consulted and informed and to make choices of their lifestyle. The fully trained staff and key workers provide a safe, loving and caring homely enviroment in which each person can grow and develope to reach their potential as an individuals and enjoying life to the fullest at the same time. We focus on individual care packages that enhance their daily lives.

Redwalls Footprints our childrens house has 6 permanent chidren 3 semi permanent and 6 respite beds, the repite rooms in Footprints are themed in a unique style covering fairy tales stories covering Cinderella, Aladdin, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio and Jungle book. Redwall our house for over 18 year olds has 4 permanent rooms and 2 respite rooms, we only opened the door's in October and already we need to extend the house.

FootprintsThis brings me to our next project which is why we are doing the rally..OUR NEXT STAGE IN CARE IS A DAY CARE CENTRE. We have found it more and more difficult to find a day care centre that meet's the needs of our residents, OUR AIM IS TO BUILD OUR OWN. The building will be fully accessible throughout for the disabled for example bathroom and toilets will be desigen so that the disabled can use these as independently as possible and if they need assistance there is space for the necessary equipment or staff to help. The day care centre will offer a caring enviorment and encouragement needed to help them maximize their independance, it will include an outstanding range of facilities including, music, arts and crafts and sensory rooms,it will have a public coffee bar to enable friends and relatives to call in, knowing there is somewhere they will feel at ease and not intrude on the other young peoples lives, we need to raise..... ....£500K TO MAKE THIS POSSIBLE.
