Team Wildfire is made up of Olly and Pete, they have known each other for over 12 years. Olly, the one that actually knows a little about cars and Pete who knows abolsutely nothing are hoping to complete the 10000 mile trek to Mongolia through Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. We will be doing it in a 1988 Fiat Panda 4x4, with the philosophy that the Panda can never have too many bull bars or spot lights. We are doing this to raise money for two charities, SOS Children's Villages and Cancer Research UK. We would really appreciate it if you would be kind enough to donate to either of these great causes.
Some of you may question why we are doing this? Well, imagine yourself in the middle of the gargantuan Kazakh desert, your car slowly being shredded by the dirt track your map says is a motorway, completely lost hundreds of miles from civilisation with no back up crew to rescue you. Just you, your wits, your increasingly brown pants, a car that the laws of physics say shouldn't have got you past Peckham Rye and a slightly angry looking man with a gun. If this all conspires to make you think, "my goodness that's a terribly silly idea" the Mongol Rally is probably not your cup of salted Mongolian tea. If, on the other hand, you think "hang on by gad, that's exactly what I need" then why not drive a third of the way around the world in a 20 year old, 1 litre Fiat Panda.

| 44 weeks 1 day ago | Been driving for 40 hours, as we want to get into the queue for the border before it shuts friday night... Very tired. | 0 | |
| 44 weeks 2 days ago | ...haven't got used to the Russian alphabet yet, and are still referring to place names using letters such as "Capital Backwards N" and so on... sigh. Panda doing ok, but has definitely seen better days. Fingers crossed we'll get to the Mongolian border in the next day (hopefully) or two (probably). | 0 | |
| 44 weeks 3 days ago | Cruising at 50mph (60 downhill) so making slow but steady progress. Still having issues with the headlights/electrics, but seems to be going fine at the moment - touch wood! Stopping for the night, trying to get some miles under the belt now. | 0 | |

| 45 weeks 1 day ago | Staying in a motel about 5km outside of Almaty. Camped near the big lake in eastern Kyrgyzstan last night, which was really cool. Quite the eventful morning: got towed out of a field, took a ride on a horse, and got a speeding fine. In the panda, not on the horse.... | 0 | |
| 45 weeks 5 days ago | Just made it through the border> Met 2 other teams and we're going to stay in the Panda tonight just this side of the border, then make way to Bishkek tomorrow via Toktogul Reservoir. Got invited to a wedding this morning, and met an Uzbek English teacher... All in all another random day! | 0 | |
| 45 weeks 6 days ago | Just got to Namangan. Was hoping to cross the Kyrg border this evening but we've heard on the grapevine it's closed for the evening, so will try tomorrow. Currently staying in a "hotel", not the best we've seen... Was awesome driving through the mountains from Tashkent today. More mountains planned for tomorrow. | 0 | |
| 46 weeks 1 day ago | Made it through the border this morning to Tashkent. Currently in the rather lovely Markaziy Hotel, swimming pool, sauna... awesome! However it's quite like a sauna outside too, 40* plus... hot weather for us gingers! | 0 |
