Hi, I'm Nick's (from the taxi) mum...not so much of the "middle aged housewife" please! Just wanted to say I've really enjoyed reading your blog too. You write really well and have painted such a vivid picture of the places you've been and all you have endured on your amazing journey. Good luck with reaching China and the offsetting. All the best to you and your partner for a happy future together. Sylvia.

Hi, I'm Matthew's mum and just to say that I have really enjoyed your blogs.  Matthew was so slow with any updates that it was easier to follow yours.  Hope you sort out the trees!  Hope she likes the ring and wish you all the best for the future.  Keep up the writing!

Best wishes

Tish

For the avoidance of any doubt, the care home you visited is not run by the CDPF. This saddening blog illustrates just how much work there is to do in Mongolia and how important that we raise money so that the CDPF can help projects like this. We are developing projects with the CDPF to ensure that all of the money that will be eventually raised from the vehicle auction is spent carefully and in the most effective way.

We'll be reporting on this, and much more, later in September.

Hi Shark,  I had no idea the headlamp washers were rare - until after i wrecked one of mine taking them off!  i should have left them on and painted around them!

Send me an email to the team email address 50degreesnorth@live.co.uk so I can contact you about the washer bottle pumps.

Also, have you got any info on the 4x4 Capri rally car at all? or photos?  Or for thast matter, by any chance do you know of such a thing as a Capri Rally Preparation Manual?  Just on the off-chance?

thanks for coming back to my team page by the way ... I appreciate the support!

Congratulations on the wedding ... you both deserve it!

I guess that puts you out of contention for my co-drivers seat for the Capri though ... you really will have to teach me to weld now! ;-)

You my friend are a true hero of the Mongolian Charity Rally. We have followed you every step of the way with your wonderful updates and it was almost ( but not quite!) as good as being there. And congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Any woman who can not only put up with you setting off on a totally unsuitable bike on some of the most challenging conditions on the planet, but encourage you is one in a million. Enjoy the rest of your trip and have a beer or three for us!

Well what can i say ,i might be able to fit you up with a washer pump but the headlamp washers ,now there is a rare item,i did have a pair on an old 3,0Ghia but sadly they got squashed along with the shell ,much to my regret now even though they were useless

Matt, the road is complete from Arvakheer to UB and you could easily do the whole distance in a day - you're on tarmac all the way now! Good luck for the last stretch!

You, sir, have won yourself  a souvenir 'hunk of junk' from the Capri that is going to Mongolia and back ... but since you are a Capri man, you probably have a few hunks of junk of your own ... so how about we raise the stakes a bit .. I could send you a bit of my Capri that is knackered ... suitably decorated of course; and you could send me something from your Capri that actually works ... as it stands at the moment I need washer bottle pumps for screen and headlamps, plus a headlamp washer unit as fitted on Ghia models ... one of mine is completely buggered - bolts sheared off, inlet hose connector destroyed ... not much of a trade I know but you could probably recondition it .... or I can spray it silver for you and you can use it as a door stop or paperweight!

You could take pride in knowing that you donated a really useful and important part to help keep my screen and headlamps clean on the rally ... and boy, the dust out there is unbelievable so I will need it for sure!
