Ok, crossed back into Russia yesterday about 6pm local time.

Ok, crossed back into Russia yesterday about 6pm local time. About 30mins later the car started vibrating big time. Kept going for a bit, then the rear drive shaft fell off! Limped on in front wheel drive leaking oil, then stopped by police. They called us a cab, which we followed to a mechanics. Even though it was 8pm he drove off to get us the part we needed, fitted it and welded our exhaust back together for £25! Whilst we waited we chatted to his mates, one of whom was a boxer, who showed us his gun, tried to sell me his car, took loads of photos with us then bought us a bottle of vodka!

49 weeks 1 day ago Just left Bulgan, about 210 miles from Ulaanbataar. Car has a few mechanical issues now, chiefly the crack in the front drivers side brake rotor, so using handbrake instead. Might make it to Ulaanbataar tonight if roads improve0
49 weeks 4 days ago Just stopped in Ulaangom. Had to take the scenic route over a 2500m hill because the lowlands are flooded! Mongolian border was the best yet, really friendly and welcoming, crossed it yesterday afternoon and camped in a huge open plain last night. All going well so far!0

49 weeks 5 days ago Made a rookie error yesterday, Mongolian border was closed because it was Sunday, so camped just out side the last russian town. Had some Russian people drive up to us with a live sheep in the boot of their Lada which they tried to sell to us! Just packing up camp, heading for border asap0
49 weeks 6 days ago Couldn't do a blog last night, no signal where we were camped. Had first proper wash for days in a mountain stream. Currently in a small town surrounded by a huge ring of mountains, heading for mongolian border. Not sure how much longer phone signal will hold out0
