Team Steppe On It get ready for their 10,000-mile rally to Mongolia

A TRIO from Sheffield is preparing to join a 10,000-mile rally to Mongolia in aid of the Children's Hospital.
Peter Tissington, aged 30, his brother James, 28, and Peter Williams, 35, will set off from Sheffield next month in a silver Volvo 940 ready to encounter mountain ranges, deserts and plenty of pot holes.

They are calling themselves Team Steppe On It, with the aim of raising £5,000 for the hospital charity.

"It's like something Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond would do on Top Gear, except we won't have back-up trucks, unlimited money and five star hotels to stay in!" said Peter, of Hunters Bar.

"We'll be driving through Western Europe, Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and finish in Mongolia's capital, Ulan Bator."

He said: "We asked our friends which charity they thought we should raise money for. Most said the Children's Charity because they have benefited from the service at the hospital, or know someone who has."

Worrall Business Supplies, Harrats (Volvo), AB Graphics, Sheffield City Taxis and Pennine Lubricants are sponsoring the team, which leaves Sheffield on July 19, expecting to complete the adventure in four weeks.

The trio and its car will be appearing at the Totley Show on June 22 and Dobcroft Infants Summer Fayre on July 5.
