Were in Mongolia!
Were in Mongolia! We spent the night near a lake and have now arrived in KHOVD. customs was a bit slow as they were a bit confused with our paperwork. We got there in the end. Very nice people. The first boarder who made us feel welcome into their country. Its very dry and dusty here and the roads slow going. I'm glad we have the ground clearance. The truck is going great.

| 48 weeks 5 days ago | I must admit that this rally was one of the hardest things we had ever done, and we have taken on some challenges over the years. For me the main point of the rally was charity. I was a bit disappointed by the response of the public when trying to get money off them. 100% of money raised was going to charity. Unfortunately I was the one with all the money so purchased the car and equipment myself. The Rally was a great experience and was not without problems along the way. It is these problems that made it for me. Through Europe the journey started event free. The problems started in Poland. The Pajero started over heating and losing water. After stripping it down at the side of the road we discovered that the radiator cap was faulty and was trying to get rid of 2 litre read more » | 0 | |
| 49 weeks 6 days ago | We are now back in the Uk. Our disasters did not stop when the car was handed over!. The flights from UB to Moscow were straight forward. When we reached Moscow we decided to make use of the double entry visa we had and Re Visit the city. The last time we were there, we broke down outside Red Square. All the Taxi's were far too expensive, so found an un-official one. It was not long before we were in a storm of torrential rain. The taxi driver said he would pick us up a 4pm but did not show. BBD stated that he had already studied the Metro Map and that we could get the underground to the Airport. We went along with this idea and purchased tickets and followed BBD. We got off at the sign stating Airport and to our suprise we were not near the airport. We asked directio read more » | 0 | |

| 50 weeks 2 days ago | Team vanishing point finally made it to UB. The car is been handed over. The people at the CDPF were great. Flights are booked and will be on our way home tomorrow. Despite what we went through, it was a great experience. We have handed over a great car to the charity and made some cash for children in need. The one thing that doing this journey shows, is that there are people out there, with nothing. We met an old women selling 3 potatoes at the side of the road. Children collecting scrap and old bottles so they can survive. Next time we moan about are situation, What we want, and what we have. Remember what we have. Thank you to the CDPF and the charity rallies organisers, go help, for trying to make a difference. Thank you to everyone that has supported us throughout. read more » | 1 | |

| 50 weeks 3 days ago | On route to UlaanBaatar we all have to breaking strain of a warm mars bar. We did not get into the last town until 2am . Several hours of driving off road. Through rivers, in the dark. My eyes were popping out of my head. To add to it, we had yet another puncture. On arrival in Arvaykheer, we could not find a hotel. Slept in the car for four hours, and we have continued are drive. Need a wash, need clean clothes, need some sleep, need some decent food, NEED A HOLIDAY! | 0 | |
| 50 weeks 3 days ago | Arrived safely in Bayankhongor. Roads a bit better. Some good sights. Ended up with a puncture. And the jack broke. Waited for a passing car and borrowed a jack. Time to fill up and move onto the next town. | 0 | |
| 50 weeks 4 days ago | arrived in Altay. Who needs a bowler wildcat when you've got Herbie the Pajero. Were now off the diesel and now only inhale dust. BBD is trying his hand at off roading. He's not too bad, but insists on trying to get the truck through any road condition at the same speed. The beards are coming on well. If you saw the state of our clothes, you would think we had been out here for years. The journey here was the most Stressful, relentless and punishing journey i have ever done. Its 23:30 hrs hear and just booked into a hotel. 10 Pounds for the 3 of us. Only cold running water, but it does have a real toilet with a flush. no more smelly hole in the floor. Need to get some sleep as we do not appear to be sleeping anymore. | 0 | |

| 50 weeks 6 days ago | Decided that we would stop in a hotel yesterday. We spent far too long looking for one as they were all full. When it was dark we tried to find somewhere to put up a tent. BBD found a nice muddy spot and proceeded to reverse the truck into a deep, muddy, watery hole. This bottomed it out. Lasty and i got it out. We found somewhere else to sleep. The car. This morning i discovered my wallet was missing. I then remembered the muddy hole. We drove the 4 miles back and started swimming our hands through the mud at the bottom of the water. After 5 minutes and up to my elbows in mud, i found it. We all washed in the river. Washed the mud off the car and have a steady drive through the mountains. The scenery is fantastic. Now off to see if the boarder is open. We are about 20 miles away. If not beer. Food, tent. | 0 |
