Vehicle deposit

Before you leave on the rally you need to pay a vehicle deposit and register ALL of your vehicle details on the rally website. Without this we can not arrange for your vehicle to be imported. We will update you with full instructions for paying your vehicle deposit in due course.

The vehicle deposit for the Mongolia Charity Rally 2009 will be £400 for entry at Mongolia's Northern border and £800 for entry at Mongolia's Western border (Tashanta/Tsaganuur).

This will be payable at a time set by Charity Rallies in the month before you depart for Mongolia.

 

The idea is to stop teams dumping the car in the countryside after crossing the border, or stupidly trashing it so that the charity receive nothing but a worthless scrap car. 

In detail, your vehicle deposit will be used by Go Help to cover:

  1. any and all costs of recovering your vehicle or any penalties imposed, if, after crossing the Mongolian the border, you leave/sell/dump your car before delivery to Go Help in Ulaanbataar;
  2. the costs of any repairs required to the vehicle before it is auctioned due to the recklessness or carelessness of the team as determined in the reasonable opinion of Go Help; and
  3. the costs of any vehicle tax imposed on the vehicle where the vehicle has not been previously approved by Charity Rallies as tax exempt before final pre-departure registration.
