JAM RALLY
JAM RALLY
This momentous journey will begin in London on 11 July 2009 at Highbury Fields in Islington, where we will be given a taste of Mongolia and seen off on our trip by the Mongolian Ambassador and London’s Mongolian community. We will arrive a month later – one of the best month’s of our lives – that will be filled with potholes, dust, deserts, mountain ranges, baking days, freezing nights, many, many borders (and border guards) and more adventures than you can shake a stick at.
We have set a personal challenge that the car that we will complete the rally in must cost less than £1000 which will make the rally even more challenging.
Our planned route takes us through 15 countries from the UK: France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Azerbaijan, across the Caspian Sea to Turkmenistan, then on to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, into Russia and then finally to Ulan Baatar, the capital of the Mongolian People’s Republic. That is, if we can find our way out of London and on to the M25, which is far from certain.
So check out our page! And click on our Justgiving link below to support us! All donations are welcome. We need to raise a minimum of GBP1,000 before we leave for Mongolia, which will be shared between our chosen charities.
You can also support us by donating cash to us to cover our expenses such as fuel, and you can also donate spare parts for our vehicle which we would really appreciate! We are donating the car to the CDPF when we arrive, so every little helps, and it is all going to a good cause.
