The Mongolia Charity Rally launches from the Nadaam event held at Islington Fields in North London on the 5th of July, The Renegade Taxi then heads straight off for the most harrowing part of the journey ... the M25 at rush hour!
Crossing the chanel from Dover to Dunkerque and off into Belgium and Luxembourg.
Next into Germany to hunt down an Irish Bar beloved of One Man Band Dan.
Heading next into those countries which were once known as Czechoslovakia and into Ukraine, where the girls are supposedly very pretty ... no chance for us then ...
First visa fun at Russia then heading across to Astrakhan before crossing into Kazakhstan and heading to Gurjev on the Caspian Coast.
heading first north-east then south east we should end up on the southern border of Kazakhstan before heading to Almaty and hitting the Silk Road for a bit.
Then onwards towards Barnaul in Russia passing Semi-palantinsk still glowing from Russian nuclear testing!
Next through the Altai mountains to Mongolia in time for the solar ecclipse on the 1st of August with luck!
Then the long haul off road to Ulaanbaatar and visions of yaks and camels that are beyond our wildest dreams.
