An update from Scary... some more car progress....

Fathers day! I ignored the whole thing and escaped to the garage from 9 this morning till just now (10.30pm)

Lots done, windscreen changed, some more interior fitted, roof bars and rack tried out, dash fitted, radio fitted. Looking for a good place to put the inverter, given that river crossings were mentioned - how high is the water likely to get?

Also fitted the radiator (the good one - you have the so-so auto rad to take as a spare) and the rad top panel (right way up this time) and I've sorted out some auxilliary cooling. I have fitted a granada scorpio electric fan in the void between the nose and the radiator. when active, it blows enough air through the rad to turn the viscous fan on the other side! (under no load, obv...) also ducts nicely into the inner arches to help stuff like brakes keep their cool too.

Found also an astra fusebox and relay board that can manage all the aux equipment. I'm just going to run another loom alongside the stock one rather than attempt a 100% custom job. Most of this (and prob the inverter too will be where the glovebox was, passenger side dash. Strategically placed 12v sockets in the centre armrest, facing back for rear use too.

Quick question about the back, actually...which side is getting sat in? behind driver, or behind passenger? I don't know when any of you last sat in the back of a capri but I was very surprised today at how much less room there is than I remember (and I remember it being a cramped little SOB....)

Anyway, going on a bit... did loads more, but too tired to recount most of it!
