We thought all of our loyal followers and fans, who we have heard have been watching our progress with some interest, would like to hear the end of the saga. Thanks to all of you who have supported us.
We went with Dulguun to visit the school in the north of Ulaanbataar that will receive UGU. It will obviously be very useful. They take in and house /educate children who have been abandoned or whose families are unable to care for them. Transporting the children has been very difficult , but not any more. We were delighted to think that our truck would be put to such good use.
The school has had had it's ancient stove confiscated because of new pollution laws. There is no replacement arrangement and they need $1600 to buy a replacement or they will need to close for the winter. The winter is many months long so the children will be without care and support. We are intending to raise this money and any contributions to Rob and myself for this purpose would be gratefully received. Thankyou.
As a last comment the customs at UB airport knew immediately that we had arrived by car and checked up on the import status of our vehicle. Lesson - a transit visa would not have been a good idea, if we had had one I suspect we would still be there.
We arrived home on Monday morning via Korea and Hong Kong. Job done!!
