Team Flying Scotsmen
So Henry, Ewan, Damo and Rory are off to Mongolia (hopefully we’ll make it, fingers crossed). This is a 10,000 mile trip in a Subaru forester 4x4.
The basics of it are we start in Edinburgh and drive an as yet unconfirmed route through Europe towards Turkey and then a ferry to Ukraine, then Russia, Kazakhstan, back into Russia and then finally into Mongolia arriving in Ulaanbaatar, at the end of August. Crossing about 15 or more countries and trying to work out where to go is going to be a challenge and as such we hope you'll give us a bit of your hard earned cash to help us fund the trip and support the amazing work that Save the Children & CDPF do.
Today, every third child in Mongolia is poor. Fewer children than before enroll in school and
more drop out early. Many simply can’t afford to study. Thousands of children work to
support their families, competing with adults for petty work. Thousands of street children are
the result of homelessness and family breakdown. The economy has recently started to
recover, leaving the government under increasing public pressure to reduce unemployment
and poverty.
We have a target of £1000 minimum to raise for Save The Children. Currently we are at £797. So close to the minimum target, although we hope to raise as far beyond this and with your help we can do this. To make a donation click on link below, thanks kindly

The car is donated to the CDPF (Children's Development Protection Foundation) based in Mongolia , who will receive all the vehicles at the end of the event. The CDPF are the second partner and help to run the Go Help charity projects in Mongolia. We won’t be fundraising directly for the CDPF, instead the CDPF receive the proceeds of the auction of the vehicle and any aid items that we can take with us.
We are looking for your help and support and any advice you may be able to offer us on our journey.
Also we are looking for donations towards
1 cost of vehicle (which is auctioned to raise money for CDPF charity) £1320 plus full service
2 cost of fuel between £1500 and £2000
3 visas to Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and China £1000 to £1500
we already have just over £1000 but we are still quite far off. please donate whatever you can. it all helps.
please email us at teamflyingscotsmen@gmail.com if you would like to make a donation. thanks kindly
Any of you with corporate ties who want to chat about sponsorship opportunities let us know! We will of course be getting loads of press coverage and driving across the world so people will see your company logo on our fantastic vehicle.
To those of you who I suggested were just getting a cheap holiday for your charity works, apologies... I didn't mean it, you know I was only joking and I donated to you didn't I?
So please dig deep, dust off those pennies, look down the back of the sofa and give what you can.
If you want to give to Save the Children, please donate through Justgiving.
