into Tajikistan last night and another mechanic visit this morning!

kokand. What an eventful couple of days! The good news is we found some diesel, the bad was we had an extended time in kokand with a car issue but we also met some lovely guys who looked after us extremely well. Into Tajikistan tomorrow fingers crossed.

A couple of nights in the mountains near Tashkent before bad weather drove us out today. The chairlift for the ski resort took health and safety to another level. Now on the hunt for diesel again as its as rare as hens teeth in uzbekistan - they all run on gas canisters.

having a break from driving doing some sightseeing in the silk road city of khiva. We certainly needed a holiday after our dash across Turkmenistan! Uzbekistan is far more touristy - there are some - but I must say the people were so incredibly friendly in Turkmenistan. They kept jumping in their cars whenever we were lost and driving us to our destinations to get over the language barrier. And we also now have a Turkmen equivalent of furry dice in the truck which one guy gave us as a present. A leisurely drive through Uzbekistan over the next 10 days now :-)

somewhat interesting late evening in the Turkmen capital involving a u turn, a bent policeman and a group of wedding party guests who had studied in London. Alls well and we're heading North across the karakum desert today.
