Final position .... Home.

After 9600 miles we dropped the car off on Saturday morning (after doing the shopping in it of course!) - many thanks to all at CDPF for all their support and kindness.  Sorry for the mess inside what with the dust and the small diesel leak from a jerry can.  Even more thanks to them for pointing out that UB is one hour on from the border!

The journey back was nowhere near as intersting - UB to Irkustk, Moscow (visit Red Square), Berlin (for the night) and then UK.

 So thanks to CDPF for their welcome (hope the Disco goes to a good home and you look after Norman in his new home at CDPF office), all at Charity Rallies for organising the even (pity about Turkmenistan as that had knock on probs with Kas and Uzbeck and deportation etc, to our supporters and sponsors and most of all to our friends and family for all their support both before and during our little drive.

UB @ night. A rare treat. But we made it with a donkey broken headlight (working thanks 2 food box + spare bulb) +rear shocks not good. Discos rule.

Baku but on move. Given up on Turkmen route as time critical. Every one else on same route. Shame not 2 do Turkmen but still might end in UB. At least moving.

Baku - the only problem is that no one has told the ferry offical that we are here.  We don't have a turkmen visa as it's waiting for us at Turkmenbasi, so they won't let us on the ferry.  Turkmen Embassy said that they should have been told about us 5 days ago and then all would have been fine (!!) So we spend the w-e in Baku and wait for the Embassy in London to open, so Archie can ask them to give the Baku Embassy a call to tell the Ferry port officials that we do have a visa waiting for us and to let us purchase a ticket (bet their won't be much room for negotiation on price after all that).  Only problem is our car visa runs out on Sunday so we may have to arrange for the car to be impounded after customs.

At least we have a cheap hotel andhave met up with 2 other teams.

Baku. Only stopped once + Bob talked us out of 150 fine. Good move with quiet route but best with 4x4. Hope 2 get ferry sat.

thru Tukish border, had fun in Georgia with their do or die driving (will import style into Uk) then after visit 2 Stalin town, took 1.5 hours into Az.

not bad for 6 days motoring. Hope 2 cross into Az 2day via the quiet border if we can with right hand drive.
