Moscow + drunk taxi driver = crazy ride to airport! We are now at our second moscowvian airport and have booked our second flight, arriving 06:55 gmt

We've hit one of russia's 3 international airports - nice 3 hour flight from kaz, i love aeroplane food! just trying to get directions to the other int airport so we can get a flight to heathrow!

Trying to get home!! Astana Airport is quite nice tho - Weather is crazy, thunder and crazy lighting

Well, I'm sat on my laptop in Astana International airport, waiting for our flight to Moscow that leaves at 9pm local time (3pm GMT). Back in Ukraine we hit a pothole the size of a bathtub, and that seems to have caused a problem with the cooling system. We lost a lot of water there at the side of the road, and the car has been using as much water as we fill it up with since, yet there are no visible leaks. There is also oil in the radiator, and although the temp guage never worked properly (i.e. never got past about 1/4) it now doesn't move off the stop, and the top of the radiator stays cool. We decided to drop out as breaking down in the Altay mountains would cause huge problems for us, not to mention the other 2 teams that would be burdened with us.

Properly gutted, but I really can't wait to get home and see Danielle, and Kev can't wait to see Perry. We hope to pick up a connecting flight to Heathrow from Moscow tomorrow but will let you know how we get on. You never know, we might end up spending a night in Amsterdam if Andy and Jon have made it there! Hehe!

today we decided to head thru kaz's northern route because of worries about the road conditions heading south. Great fun off road, but 40 miles in 2 hours means we don't get to mongolia. Gutted that jon and andy aren't here now, but we will press on and be home soon. Love and miss every1. X x

Were all good. team no known way are out of the game car fscked so left them in a village with locals there going to find a way back . Us 3 teams are all good nice strong 4 x 4 s just settling down for the night roads suck . Love ya all

Kazakh border = worst and most corrupt ever encountered! Still trying to buy insurance here, and bribe someone there! Been here since 14:45 and it's now 17:30!!

we are nearly at the kazakhstan border! Temp is in the 30's and it's steaming! Don't know what sort of phone coverage we will get in Kaz so may not hear from us for a while. Love paul and kev
