Well we finally made it! a little later than planned but I'll take getting here as comfort, there were definatly times I thought we would'nt!

We actually arrived yesterday afternoon, a day earlyer than our re(re-re)-thinked plan due to some amazeing tarmac and straight roads, which we were not expecting! We have sorted out the car and handed her over and have had the first of a few celebrational beers.

Massive thanks to everyone at CharityRallies for their support and effort, well done to all the other teams and thanks to everyone who's helped us along the way, without everyone this wouldn't have been possible.

Well..the leaf was repaired and then the top leaf snapped a short while down the road...followed by the top leaf on the other side! So we have currently limped to the next town and are going to limp to ub. 390km to ub..20mph av speed...looks like saturday in ub for us! Only get signal in towns...so next update maybe from ub! Wish us luck, we could do with it!!

Well, im glad to report we are finally back in civilization. After a wrong turn which took us into the Gobi our leaf spring decided to snap in 3 places. This posed a problem because we were now 200km away from any town, on a track, with no phone signal. So, using our cubscout instincts we hacked some wood into a brace and jammed the rear axel to the frame and have crawled to our town! It took 14hrs of hellish driving but the car is currently at a machanic and should be fixed by this evening. Bad times back there....bad times, hopefully in ub thurs/friday!

Made camp in the desert, which included our best meal yet accompanied by a roaring fire from gathered wood, about 80km west of Altaj, roads have improved slightly and the green godess seems happy.

Spend our last night with the gobi boys and have now said our goodbyes, we would like to thank both Andy and George for their company and wit and wish them the very best of luck on the northen road. Green goddess is doing ok, leaf springs are feling the beating they took in Kaza but we are carrying on with the odd scrape. 7030 miles done!

After decideing trying to extend out customs declaration would most likely be fruitless we headed to the russian border, ashame as we were loving kaza. Somhow, we totally missed a sign for the border... and found ourselfs on a magical road leading right along the border! This road was apparently a minor road...but it was good, very good! Another quick miles count and we are now heading across kaza! Stopped for the night in a posh hotel ready for the big push past Astana today. Am I happy we are not in russia yet? Yes I am! Long live the good roads!!
