Not a stutter from Stella as she purrs majestically into the Mongolian capital!! No longer a object of our sometimes delirious imagination but as real as houses, roads, cars, power station and gers! Our 9000 mile adventure with Stella sadly ends but her real adventure is about to begin- We speak to charity tomorrow to discuss her new future. Three slighty numb but proud history boys wearing Cotswold t shirts are off to find a shower and an eatery.. A job [Missing part 04]

we've made it to the outskirts of ulan baatur- we got horribly lost in the mountains last night but backtracked back on route today and after 200miles of blissful tarmac were making good progress. Now however it has descended back into mud and potholes and this and a brief spell on two wheels in a ditch, have stopped our fast progress. No problem for stella but it has restricted us to another night's camping before our final arrival...

not sure if last blog worked, unsuprisingly its a little tricky to find signal when lost in the Gobi.. The vast multi terrain desert consumed 2 tyres yesterday- which were repaired for a quick £2 ..and with spontaneous donation of some books to next door school! Currently in town of bayanhongor filling up with fuel and water. The road so far has been truly epic- today sporting a swim in a river with some local bikers and a drop or two of some special 'goats milk'. Hoping to be in UB day after next.

we've done it... We're in MONGOLIA! crossed the border an hour ago leaving tarmac behind us untill we reach UB. Immediate change in landscape is incredible. Sitting 7000ft above sea level, surrounded by mountain, dust and a deathly silence. The pure beauty in barren isolation is astounding- a true playground for giants

still tearing towards the mongolian border now only 200miles away... Suddenly broken through the rain and clouds but we're not sure how long this'll last! Only a brief stop today in the most beautiful river spot in the alty valley where we all went for a nippy dip and some off-road practice. Now searching for a place flat and pretty enough to pitch a tent... All excited for the border tomorrow!

the h boys have made Russia! 4 hour border to enter the motherland after refreshing night in semey with mongol response! This morning was odd-woke up to find a flat tyre but the remarkable if unnerving skills of a Kazakh tyre man got us back on the road. Driving through more extraordinarily determined rain and lightning to russian city of barnaul. great news, successful garage stop means stella has new front right shock absorber but the gas system is still out of use. After a spontaneous days clothes shopping, we've found a perfect spot by a river for a swim and our first campfire. Press on to Semey tomorrow perhaps...

on the way to astana at the mo. We spent a lovely morning sleeping as the aussies sped ahead. Then tried to fix the gas leak but it seemed to be beyond our minimal knowledge- so sticking to petrol for the time being. a full repair will be pursued in the city. Main road is totally useless and has made progress slow. The rozzas are hot on our tail, but consistently let us continue fine-free, usually after having a guess at my nationality...

on the road to astana. North Kazakh impressively developed, very green and we've run into yet more serious rainfall- shown this morning when for the 1st time stella's lack of 4x4ness got us into a little muddle (in the mud..!). man power and Roof planks sorted us no problems. Other than that we've had several cheery police stops and a new suspicious smell surrounding our gas tank- we've set aside time in astana to get it checked out. Convoying with 2 aussies in 'team afrique', mongol ralliers who dont act like 12 yr olds...
