8 days to go and so much left to do so last night was spent working on the bikes. I’ve managed to source an oil cooler for my bike which is now fitted and should alleviate some of the stress on the engine while going though some of the hotter counties….if only I could fit one to myself.

We're there (arrived Thursday 2nd)!!!

Arrived in UB, tracked Dulguun down at GoHelp.

Hope to hand UGU over to it's new owners on Friday, so cleaning it up and making it presentable.

Going to eat chips and drink beer tonight (Martin). Rob possibly hoping for a tuna and corned beef concoction????

Watch this space for the final episode of the trek. M and R

Greetings from Vienna! Team have arrived safely near the Hungarian border around stage 6 passing many sights and smells along the way. Sor far the team has gone through france on an epic all-nighter. We´re all used to driving inthe wrong side of the road with the occasional mishap/observational error (Mark). Following this we entered Switzerland, enjoying a lovely ride through rolling hills and sloped roofed houses top off with all the usual cow bells! The other night was spent in Luzern. A refreshing cold dip in the lake also served as a bath, the first wash in a while and a welcome respite from Jimmys unadiquet underwear quota!  read more »

Well it's been a busy few weeks sorting out paper work, chasing Visa applications and generally trying to keep things together but I'm happy to report we are now just one small step away from the final vital piece of the puzzle, this final bit...well...it's a Visa! the Mongolian Visa to be exact, after initially trying to post the Visa we have now resorted to a last minute assault on the Mongolia Embassy in London, if I'm smiling by Friday evening you can say it went well! otherwise....panic!

We are camping in a Gheer about 50 km from UB.

Hopefully that means we can arrive  in the city tomorrow, not a hair out of place, looking as though the whole thing has been a breeze!

Jane has booked us a  place to stay so we can have a bit of a look around, that's the plan, and experience  the place before we fly out on Saturday night. Can't believe we arrived when we said we would, it's amazing. we haven't really stopped anywhere for long except our day off in Almaty. Oh yes, and the day we spent watching the amazing repair of UGU's springs.

So the 'royal progress' into Ulaanbataar tomorrow ....will  blog you all  when we get there.  read more »
