This is modern retirement. Voluntary redundancy put an end to a life sentence on the BBC radio newsdesk, and presented an opportunity to see what life was like on the outside. We thought it'd be good to do something useful; unfortunately we couldn't think what, so hit on the idea of buying an old van and driving it eight-thousand miles.
